Whenever someone offered me anything – whether it was fresh strawberries or a strawberry-flavored dessert, panic would strike into my heart as I tried to politely decline, afraid that they would insist or be offended at my refusal. It wasn’t until I was a teenager living in Canada that I realized – I didn’t hate strawberries, I hated fake strawberry flavoring. (The same goes for hyper-fake watermelon flavoring, too!)
While I’ve grown to actually enjoy some fake strawberry treats (like a drive-thru Strawberry Milkshake), for the most part I like to use real strawberries when making my own strawberry desserts – like our No-Bake Strawberry Cheesecakes!
