Steel cut oats are made by cutting the whole oat 2-3 times, into smaller pieces. Because they are less processed than quick oats or rolled oats, they digest slower. (So they have a lower glycemic index, and keep you full longer, win!)
One difference you’ll notice about steel cut oats compared to quick oats or rolled oats is the cooking time. Steel cut oats take 10-15 minutes to cook. Yes, it’s a bit longer…BUT the taste and texture of these oats are so worth it!
